MyDatabaseAdministrators.com - Your Database Experts!

General Requirements

  1. Remote access to the domain where database servers will be managed.
  2. Database backup hardware with capacity appropriate for the size of the databases to be backed up.
  3. On-site operational support (someone to perform backup media rotation or put CD/DVD into the server if needed).
  4. On-site technical contact.
  5. Each database server must have outbound internet access so that it can make a rest call out to MyDatabaseAdministrators.com. The reason for this is so that we can get wake up phone calls in an automated fashion if a critical event occurs.
  6. While it is not a requirement it is best if there is a SMTP (mail) relay server that can be used to automatically relay emails with system status to MyDatabaseAdministrators employees. If there is no SMTP relay we will send SMS messages via rest calls to an external web site to our DBAs phones.
